This silkscreen poster has some very minor edge and corner wear and tiny tears as well as some staining in the margins; this fantastic midcentury airline poster should display beautifully once framed.
This poster features a Zulu ricksha puller in full ceremonial headdress and traditional dress who is rendered in bold geometric fragments. The elaborate beaded headdress with its buffalo horns exploding in red, brown, and green above the figure, the ricksha handles framing him below. The teal ground and flat graphic treatment give it a modernist quality that elevates it well beyond typical tourist imagery.
One of the most visually complex and accomplished designs in the Qantas series.
