A handsome piece of Swiss tobacco advertising, this poster features a white horse (Rössli means "little horse" in Swiss German) that is rendered with real painterly skill, mane flowing, against a deep green ground, a lit cigar and open box in the foreground.
Swiss tobacco posters of this period are not widely collected outside Europe, making this an interesting and relatively uncommon category for American collectors. A distinctive piece with crossover appeal for equestrian art enthusiasts as well.
