There is edge and corner wear, restored losses, and scattered edge tears up to 6" in length, with the damage being most noticeable along the left edge; some surface smudges/abrasions/stain spots; despite its defects, this very rare midcentury airline travel poster should display nicely once framed.
The composition of this wonderful poster is a collage of vignettes arranged around a central carved ceremonial object, a format common to this era of destination posters. The illustration style is confident and the palette unusually vivid.
This is a legitimate historical artifact and a scarce destination for airline poster collectors, with New Guinea-Papua material being genuinely uncommon compared to European or American routes.
