There is some diagonal creasing in the bottom right corner area; some old tape residue in the bottom left corner; otherwise this gorgeous travel poster is in near mint condition with no noticeable defects and should display beautifully once framed.
A lively and warmly illustrated Waikiki beach scene, with Diamond Head in the distance, a catamaran on the water, palm trees framing the foreground, beachgoers and outrigger canoes scattered across the sand. The loose, sketchy watercolor-influenced illustration style gives it an immediacy and energy that more graphic poster designs lack. The tiki-influenced letterforms on "Hawaii" are a nice period touch.
Qantas promoted Hawaii as a stopover destination on its round-the-world route, and this poster reflects that positioning well. A cheerful and appealing piece.
