There is restored edge and corner wear and losses; there is a very well restored 7" vertical tear at the bottom edge near the middle of the poster; some small tears and abrasions in image; faint staining near the top edge above "LONDON;" this very rare midcentury airline travel poster should display beautifully once framed.
Air-India's poster for the 1966 World Cup in London, with the Maharajah hoisted on his teammates' shoulders holding the Jules Rimet trophy. The airline's mascot appeared in hundreds of cartoon posters from the 1950s onward, always turning up wherever Air-India flew, and this is one of the most sought-after of the group. Printed in India.
