This is Guy Georget’s bold mid-century design for Air France’s Far East routes. A carp kite (koinobori) flies above a stylized black pagoda with red roofs, set among bamboo stalks and color blocks of lime, orange and sky blue. It was printed in Paris by Bedos & Cie under Air France’s art director at the time, the designer Jean Carlu. With its flat graphic shapes and bright modernist palette, it’s a standout from Air France’s golden age of travel advertising and a favorite with collectors of airline and mid-century design posters.
