The poster is in near mint condition with no noticeable defects and should display wonderfully once framed.
A superb original Le Mans race poster from one of the most celebrated years in the event's history. 1969 saw a legendary battle between Jacky Ickx and Jackie Oliver decided in the final meters. The photograph captures the electric atmosphere of the pre-race grid, Alpine-Renaults lined up in the foreground, the packed grandstands and sponsor hoardings of Martini, Motul, Lucas, and Ferodo stretching into the distance.
Photographic Le Mans posters from the late 1960s have a gritty, immediate quality that illustrated posters don't. This feels like you're standing on the pit straight. A strong piece for collectors of French motorsport, endurance racing history, and period automotive ephemera.
