The poster was folded once vertically and restoration has been performed along fold line where there was surface paper loss; restored scattered edge and corner tears up to 1" in length; ink stamp bottom right corner area that reads "CZECHOSLOVAK INFORMATION SERVICE." This poster should display wonderfully once framed.
A hand thrusts the Czechoslovak flag defiantly upward, the word "APPEASEMENT" crossed out in red beneath it, which is a direct reference to the 1938 Munich Agreement that handed the Sudetenland to Hitler and effectively sealed Czechoslovakia's fate. The message is unambiguous and the design bold and modern.
The Munich reference gives this real historical specificity. It's not generic wartime encouragement but a pointed political statement about a particular betrayal.
