The poster was folded twice vertically and horizontally; there are some extra creases along some of the fold lines; professional restoration has been performed to address fine surface paper loss along the fold lines and cross fold losses; this wonderful San Francisco travel poster should display very nicely once framed.
A beautifully composed street-level view of San Francisco's Chinatown, with pagoda rooflines receding into the distance, an ornate lantern post dominating the foreground, period cars and elegantly dressed pedestrians below, and a jet just visible overhead.
One of the stronger United destination posters of the era, and a lovely document of Chinatown as it looked in the 1950s.
