This fantastic TWA poster depicts Chicago's river corridor at dusk, with its bridges and towers dissolving into a cool blue haze. The city is painted with an impressionistic looseness that feels closer to fine art than commercial illustration, with scattered warm lights punctuating the grey urban mass. A white jet passes overhead against a pale sky. Bold yellow type and the TWA logotype sit atop the scene without overwhelming it, a rare case of the typography and the painting feeling genuinely balanced.
