The colors of the poster have faded over time; the vertical edges have been trimmed to the margins and there is some chipping along the edges; there are many small spots in the image, likely the result of ink splattering when the poster was printed; some surface accretions/abrasions; small printer's registration punch hole in the right margin; despite its flaws, this famous art deco French liqueur advertising poster should display rather well once framed.

This is Leonetto Cappiello's famous design for Maurin Quina, an aperitif from Le Puy. A grinning green devil uncorks a bottle against a stark black background. It was printed by P. Vercasson in Paris and is signed by Cappiello. It's one of the best-known images of the Belle Époque and a cornerstone of any French advertising poster collection.
