Extensive overpainting has been performed to address wear and tears along the bottom edge and corner areas, and along the bottom half of the left margin; small area of restoration in the sky to the right of the top of the tower; otherwise, the image area is clean with strong colors and this gorgeous art deco Italian travel poster should display very nicely once framed.
A richly atmospheric view down the Via della Ninna toward the Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizi colonnade stretching to the right, statues of the Piazza della Signoria just visible in the shadowed distance, a horse-drawn carriage in the foreground. The warm golden light on the tower's medieval stonework is beautifully rendered; painterly and detailed in a way that photographic posters of later decades simply can't replicate.
A handsome piece of Italian travel poster art from the golden period of ENIT publishing, and a timeless subject with enduring appeal.
