There is edge and corner wear, creasing, small tears; areas of creasing and surface scuffs/abrasions; following being mounted to Japan paper, no further restoration was performed on this poster; notwithstanding its defects, this very rare and striking art deco graphic design poster should display very nicely once framed.
The S.T.A.R.N. autobus and Nord locomotive are rendered as interlocking machines of pure geometric force. Bold curves and angular forms, the blue bus surging forward, the massive steam engine looming behind in dramatic black.
Fix-Masseau is best known for his iconic Exactitude poster for SNCF, and this earlier work shows exactly why his reputation stands so high.
