The poster is in near mint condition with no noticeable defects and should display beautifully once framed.
This poster assembles Alaska's appeal through a collage of vignettes: totem poles in the foreground, a ski lift over a glacial valley, a fisherman landing a salmon, and a grizzly bear on a mountain ridge. The layout has the busy, brochure-like quality typical of the period, packing as many selling points as possible onto a single sheet. As "The Alaska Flag Line," Pacific Northern was the state's dominant carrier before its merger with Western Airlines in 1967, and posters like this one were central to its effort to open Alaska to mainstream tourism.
