There is restored edge and corner wear and small tears; air brushing has been performed in the upper left and right edges to address paper loss; restored diagonal tear bottom left corner area; corner needle holes; some creasing/abrasions/scuffs/restored tears in image; this wonderful and colorful airline travel poster should display very nicely once framed.
Original Pan American World Airways poster by Jean Carlu, one of the four designers who defined French poster art between the wars, alongside Cassandre, Loupot and Colin. Carlu spent the war stranded in the United States, where his 1941 America's Answer became among the best known Allied production posters and entered the collection of the Museum of Modern Art. He returned to France in 1953, and this dates from the year after.
Clipper was Pan Am's name for its aircraft, carried over from the flying boat era.
