There is restored very minor edge and corner wear and tiny tears; there are some surface scuffs and abrasions, which is typical of silkscreen posters that have been previously handled; this fabulous and rare Disneyland attraction poster should display beautifully once framed.
This vintage Disneyland attraction poster advertises the “Rocket Jets,” the Tomorrowland ride that opened in 1967 high above the People Mover platform, inviting guests to “Fly One Yourself.” Sleek white numbered rockets with red, yellow and orange accents streak across a mottled blue sky, carrying smiling riders. The playful yellow lettering includes an upward-pointing arrow in “rocket.” The poster carries a Walt Disney Productions copyright. It’s a bold, optimistic example of 1960s Space Age design from Disneyland’s “New Tomorrowland,” and a standout for Disneyana and mid-century modern collectors.
