There is restored edge and corner wear, tears, small losses; there are horizontal bands of light staining in the upper quarter of the poster; there are two diagonal printer's creases approximately 12" in length on the right side of the poster; there are some surface stains/abrasions/old tape stains; despite its defects, this colorful airline travel poster should display rather well once framed.

A graphic and witty poster from Qantas's early destination series. A Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer is reduced to bold geometric shapes with the scarlet tunic, the wide-brimmed Stetson, and the pennant lance rendered against a flat teal ground with a lone aircraft silhouetted in the upper right. The cubist-influenced simplification of the figure gives it a sophistication that lifts it well above typical travel poster illustration.

The B.O.A.C. and TEAL co-branding reflects a specific moment in early postwar aviation when carriers shared long-haul routes, making this a historically interesting piece as well as a strong graphic one.
