A beautifully observed aerial view of a United States Lines liner at sea, with the promenade and boat decks teeming with passengers, the red, white, and blue funnels rising above, dark Atlantic waters churning alongside. Pike renders the scene with remarkable detail and a warm golden palette that makes the deck feel genuinely inviting.
The bird's-eye perspective is unusual in ocean liner poster art, as most favor the dramatic bow-on or broadside view. It gives this piece a relaxed, almost documentary quality. A strong and underrated example of 1920s American maritime poster design.
