A grinning, red-haired clown peers over an enormous golden biscuit against a jet black ground, equal parts unsettling and irresistible. It's exactly the kind of memorable character image that made Cappiello the most influential advertising poster artist of his era. The yellow typography pops off the dark background with real force.
A fine early example from his most productive period, printed by Vercasson. Appealing to collectors of French advertising art and food ephemera alike.
