There is restored edge and corner wear, tears, creasing, crinkling, and small losses; some surface smudges/marks; there is a 2" restored vertical tear at the top edge going down slightly into the "I" of "AIR;" colors are still very bright and fresh; this rare Air France Paris Rome poster display very nicely once framed.
This stunning poster was printed as a joint-service advertisement for the prewar Paris–Rome route operated between Air France and Ala Littoria, the Italian state airline. A twin-engine aircraft crosses a blazing amber sky above the ruins of a Roman temple. The poster is ancient and modern in one clean, bold image. The color work is exceptional and the design holds up beautifully at full scale.
