There is minor edge and corner wear, creasing, scattered small tears; is a 3.5" tear at the top edge descending down to just above the "I" in "VENICE;" this fantastic airline travel poster should display very nicely once framed.
The Piazza San Marco skyline, including the Campanile and the Doge's Palace, is rendered entirely in collaged Italian newspaper text, the architecture built from columns of newsprint rather than drawn or painted. Against a spare white ground, the effect is both witty and refined. Printed in Milan by Ariclair Pizzi, the design sits comfortably alongside the best European poster art of its era.
