This stunning stone lithograph one sheet movie poster is exceptionally rare and was used to advertise the harrowing silent film documenting the Armenian genocide.

Ravished Armenia, also known as Auction of Souls, was a 1919 silent film based on the autobiography of Arshaluys “Aurora” Mardiganian, who also played the lead role in the movie. As a young girl, Mardiganian witnessed the murder of her family by the Ottoman Empire and was kidnapped and sold into slavery before eventually escaping and making her way to New York City. She starred in the film along with thousands of Armenians in Southern California serving as extras.
